Enjoy The Benefits of Learning to Swing Dance

Swing Dance + You = Wellbeing.

Swing in the Isle

We are a not for profit organisation that exists to encourage people to learn to dance, get active and make social connections to enhance their well-being.

By joining us you will be able to enjoy dancing socially, have fun, meet new people, gain a sense of well-being and get fitter.

Learn to swing dance- We teach Lindy Hop, Charleston and Jazz. Swing Dance embraces a number of dance styles that originated in the 1920’s - 1940’s. The great thing about Swing is its simplicity, making it an easy dance style to get in to.

Beginner and Improver Lessons

We run regular classes across the Island.

In beginners class we cover basic moves suitable for all beginners.  We start an Absolute Beginners Class 3 times a year, usually January, April/May & September. But new people are welcome all year round.

Our Improvers class is aimed at people who have learnt some basic steps and want to take their dancing further. When appropriate beginners are encouraged to stay and join in with the Improvers programme.

Swing in the Isle

Swing in the Isle exists to encourage people to learn to dance.  There is also a strong tradition of socials and participation in charity and local events. We rely on our teachers and members to create an atmosphere of encouragement and friendship. It is a great way to learn a new skill, make new friends and enjoy an active social life.
